General (Retired) Wayne Eyre
 
General Eyre retired in 2024 as Canada’s Chief of the Defence Staff. Starting as an infantry officer, he rose over a 40-year career to command at all levels, including the Canadian Army. He led numerous domestic operations in Canada and served on missions overseas in Cyprus, Croatia, Bosnia, Afghanistan (twice), and South Korea. He holds a BSc. and three master’s degrees. Since retirement, he has been writing, teaching, speaking, and advising.
